How would you like to participate in a Hardy Women’s Society adventure? We’re in preliminary discussions with a a role-playing game developer about putting together an HWS scenario for Cthulhu Dark, a rules-light Lovecraftian game.

If you’re already into the author H.P. Lovecraft, then you already know what we’re talking about. If you’re not, then here’s a quick intro. Lovecraft wrote a series of horror stories and novels about strange and alien creatures whose existence bleeds over into our world.

We’re looking at creating an alternate-world version of the Hardy Women’s Society, set around the time of the society’s founding. Since the HWS was started on an island off the coast of Maine in 1898, the setting really lends itself to the Lovecraftian universe. Perhaps there will be mysterious occurrences in the nearby town of Fearns or strange stirrings in the ocean beyond the Antheia Island cliffs.

This could end up being a lot of fun for you gamers out there. We’ll let you know if this project gets off the ground and share updates as we move along. Something strange could soon be happening near Antheia Island and our bold founders will try to get to the bottom of it!
